Southern Focus Trust have used Clares Office Supplies as their main supplier of stationery, and in particular furniture, for a number of years.  I am responsible for the ordering of furniture and equipment for the Trust's headquarters.  They are always prompt and professional when replying to my requests for quotations.   In September 2004 there was a major refurbishment of our Head Office, Focus Point.  This building provides office space for 50 members of staff.  Most offices in this building and all meeting rooms and the reception area were furnished with new furniture from Clares.  This project was incredibly complicated due to the scheduling of building works and health and safety considerations.   We also acquired a new office in London Road which Clares also furnished.  Clares provided an excellent service and they ensured that all items were delivered when specified which was a priority.  I would not hesitate in commending their services.

My role is Facilities Manager for VT Shipbuilding in Portsmouth Naval Base and as such, tasks include the provision of office facilities to some 400 staff.  Some time ago Clares were chosen as our preferred supplier for office furniture and general office supplies - my personal dealings started back in 2003 when I we moved from the Southampton to Portsmouth Naval Base. Through that time I have regularly dealt with Clares as they have provided furniture to cover replacement, upgrades and complete fit-outs of new offices.

We have taken advantage of their capability for space planning to provide designs for new office layouts as well as optimising the layouts in existing areas - this service has always been offered free of charge and the results have been most beneficial.  Their subsequent quotation process is always prompt and accurate and their general contract management including regular communication is excellent.

If I had a criticism it would be the time that elapses from placing a furniture order to receipt of goods but in fairness, this is only typical of the industry. Following comments to this effect, Clares now maintain stocks of items that we regularly purchase, and in general, if they have it in the warehouse, we'll receive it the next day.

Concerning the provision of general office consumables, I selected at random, the Secretary of one of our Directors and asked her for an opinion on Clares' supply of stationery.  Her response was, "I think the service is fantastic."  It is normally the case that if we place an order late one afternoon, the items are delivered the next morning and we can ask for no more than this.

Overall, the service Clares provide is excellent which is why we continue to use them.

I just thought I’d send a quick email to say a big thank you to the driver who delivers all our Clares stationery. He is always very polite and professional and is always very well mannered, which is nice to see. I think that sometimes the drivers probably get forgotten, but they are frontline people and deserve to be thanked.
