DLT (Digital Linear Tape)

DLT cartridges are used to optimise your DLT drive and ensure data integrity. They use half inch tape in a single reel cartridge. The drive writes longitudinally onto the tape, which is a highly efficient method, enabling the DLT system to put high volumes of data onto each tape. Also now available are Super DLTs which are the highest capacity solution for network backup requirements.

Ultrium

The Ultrium system is based on the industry’s first open data storage platform. Ultrium tape cartridges have up to 200GB storage capacity. They provide unique features such as the three piece tape spool for better tracking and fewer errors.

Travan

Travan data cartridges are a reliable, cost effective back up for entry level and desktop servers. Travan offers a lower cost per gigabyte compared to alternative solutions such as DLT.

4mm & 8mm

4mm and 8mm data cartridges are brilliant for protecting your valuable data assets and are reliable and cost effective for read/write operations.

AIT

AIT (Advanced Intelligent Tape) cartridges are lower cost but provide high efficiency recording to meet your performance demands.

Cleaning

Tape cartridge technology uses near contact recording – the magnetic media floats just over the drive head while reading and writing.

Separation between the magnetic head and media will cause a decrease in strength, making it more difficult to interpret data and possibly causing errors. Dust, dirt and other micro particles can affect the tape drive efficiency and even damage motors and heads.

With all of the above in mind we offer cleaning tapes alongside all of the formats. For best performance you must clean your drive regularly.
