Consider the following points when planning your refurbishment.

The number of people that will be using the workplace
What you will be using the workplace for, e.g. data processing, drawing plans, building models etc.
What furniture you need to carry out your task effectively
The location of natural light, this may be important
Escape routes and health and safety requirements
The level of noise, for example, you may want to consider locating a call centre with high noise levels away from quieter areas of the office
Do not allow trailing leads to create tripping hazards, look for desks with cable management systems
